As a mom of 3, I am constantly running from errand to errand and sneakers are my go to shoe for such occasions. They can easily be thrown on with a t-shirt or blouse and I like to have several options to choose from for color or style variations. These New Balance 501’s are some of my favorites, they made the trek to Disney World last Thanksgiving and kept me fashionably comfortable ALL day long.
Another closet staple for me are striped shirts. I like to have multiples on hand for all seasons and this tunic with 3/4 sleeves is a great transitional piece. A little side knot instantly ups the style factor. Other options available here and here.
Henri Bendel no longer has this Uptown Satchel available and it’s a shame because it is one of my favorites. However, there are blue options available here.
My most comfortable jeans are so inexpensive and have withstood years of wear. Old Navy’s Rockstar skinny jeans are indispensable in my closet.
Since Hurricane Harvey left us in a whirlwind, cleaning up and cleaning out has been a priority. I count myself as both blessed and lucky that only the roof of our home was damaged. It could have been so much worse and was/is for so many fellow Houstonians.
Which is why I am standing in front of a pallet of roofing shingles. The first night of heavy rain led to water gushing from the fireplace and we shoved pots and pans inside to catch water. My husband quickly went into our attic to further inspect and found water coming in at multiple points. Every single large bowl, pot and bucket went into reservoir mode. When the rain let up enough for Abel to get on the roof he covered it with an enormous sheet of plastic from our garage. Thanks to our quick thinking handy superman of a dad our home was dry. Not sure how old our existing roof is, but it’s got to be OLD. I am happy to take it from it’s brown outdated shingle to a new cool toned slate shade. Fun stuff. I can’t wait to smell the tar. Kidding.
Wishing you all a wonderful day!
